Arguably one of the most talked about property of 2018, Marina One Residence remains a popular topic as it is an iconic integrated development between Malaysian and Singaporean developers. 

Details about the Development 

Marina One Residences is a project developed by Malaysian Investment Holding Fund, Khazanah, and Singaporean Investment Company Temasek Holdings. It comprises of 1,042 units across two 34 storey towers. The site area has a total of 26,200 square metres. An interesting feature of Marina One Residences would be how it has 140,000 square feet of retail space located at the podium level, and another two 30 storey towers comprising of Grade A Offices.

Marina One Residences is located along Marina Way, and is just a short 1 minute walk to reach Marina Bay MRT along the North-South Line. 

Otherwise, you can also take a short 4 minutes walk to reach Downtown MRT station, which is along Downtown Line as well. 

If you think that was it, Marina One Residences is also accessible from Bayfront MRT station for an 11 minutes walk, and is also connected to the Circle Line as well. Walking to the MRT station will bring you pass the Red Dot Design Museum, which is an interesting spot to discover. 

If you are up for a longer stroll, a 16 minutes walk will bring you from the property to Tanjong Pagar, which can be really helpful if you just work nearby Tanjong Pagar MRT station. The walk will also bring you past Amoy Street Food Centre, a perfect place for a pick-me-up or a quick meal before or after work.

One of the best features within The Green Heart would none other be the impressive 13-metre high waterfall. 

Another feature that you will get to enjoy is the Virgin Active – a 26,000 sq ft fitness club that includes extensive top-notch sports equipment indoor swimming pool, yoga studio and many more. It also holds the largest indoor climbing wall in Marina Bay. Don’t forget the salt, steam and even ice rooms as well! Other highlights also include The Pulse – a double-storey event space that includes public terraces, water features and green gardens.

In addition, you may also want to know what holds within the t 140,000 sq ft of retail space. It is as you guessed – a blend of F&B and lifestyle space including Cold Storage supermarket is an anchor tenant within the area, occupying about 10,000 sq ft of space. Close by is a 8,400 sqft food court, operated by Koufu who will be introducing its Cookhouse concept. Other tenants will also include 4 Fingers Crispy Chicken, renowned Japanese restaurant Teppei Syokudo and Jewel – a ‘third-wave’ specialist coffee house.

If you are wondering about the two 30 storey office towers, they are BCA (Building & Construction Authority) Green Mark Platinum-Certified and LEED Platinum Pre-Certified.

Final Thoughts on Marina One Residences 

In my opinion, Marina One Residences certainly takes the cake when it comes to the interior design and facilities offered. Nowadays, it is very hard to find open spaces designated for flora and fauna, which can be very relaxing to indulge in but difficult to maintain. For them to design The Green Heart to such meticulous detail is an impressive feat. 

Along with the impressive connectivity that somehow allows accessibility to all 4 types of MRT lines, it is obvious that Marina One Residences also have a great location under its belt as well. The 1,042 units is also a good unit size, as it allows the facilities’ cost to be spread out among more units, keeping the maintenance cost relatively lower and less taxing. 

Marina One Residences – A Comparison

Location – 5/5

When it comes to location, there is little left for me to say. But one notable mention would be the schools that are nearby, which is also another added benefit for living at Marina One Residences. Some of these schools include SDH Institute, EDHEC Business School – Asia Pacific, London School of Business and Finance, Uniapolis School of Businessand Manchester Business School Worldwide. 

While the list of schools does not include reputable local schools, you can still overcome this issue by driving through the expressways nearby or travelling through MRT, which can bring you to more schools in the central area. 

Quality – 4/5

Living at Marina One Residences can be really promising since it has a great location and facilities available. With the highly raved The Green Heart available, your quality of life is definitely uplifted with a less stressful and more serene pace within this tropical paradise. 

Furthermore, if you are one to be fascinated with feng shui, most of the units are also prepared in “square-shaped”, which effectively avoids the taboo of missing corners. Most of the units also grant a clear and unobstructed view all the way from the living room and the bedroom, which is definitely a plus as the house can garner qi from various directions. If you consider feng shui as a huge factor, Marina One Residences is also one to consider for long-term dwelling as well.
